Statement of Candidate for Member of the City Council

City of Vallejo, District No. 5

Rebekah Truemper

Occupation: Business Owner, Nonprofit Organization Advisor, Resource Development Counsel

Education and Qualifications: I love Vallejo, and I’m ready to help make it better. We’ve waited too long for the changes our community needs.

I was raised to stand up for what’s right, work hard, and help my neighbors. With a business degree from University of California Berkeley, I’m a strategic nonprofit leader who’s transformed local schools, arts and cultural institutions, and organizations that support domestic violence survivors. I turn ideas into action by bringing people together, attracting funding, and building partnerships that fuel change.

During my 26 years in Vallejo, I’ve worked with neighbors to support our schools, bring more resources to our community organizations, and protect our air and water from a proposed gas plant and a cement factory on our waterfront. My husband and I raised our daughter here, owned a small business in Vallejo, and currently operate my nonprofit advisor practice here. I know how City Hall’s decisions affect families, workers, seniors, and local businesses.

I’ll focus on safer neighborhoods, good local jobs, housing stability, support for people to move off the streets, and more opportunities for our young people to thrive.

Endorsed by County Supervisor Cassandra James, Councilmembers Alex Matias and Dr. Tonia Lediju, former Vice Mayor Mina Loera-Diaz, and many more.
